Futon Mattress Covers Options

Futon covers are a fantastic way to make an old futon look like new or even to just change up the style to match new decor. They are easy to install, comfortable and nice to look at, so don’t throw out that old couch just because there are a few stains on it. A futon cover can come in a variety of sizes, colors and materials but the choice of what to use is yours.

Depending on the decoration or the theme of the room you can find a material and color to match the style quite easily. Covers come in all sorts of colors: from an elegant white to an eye catching hot pink. Not only that but you can find pure cotton covers that stretch to fit the exact size and shape of the couch, or an over sized leather cover that gives it a softer more welcoming feel.

The cost is largely dependent on the brand and material. Genuine leather is going to be more expensive than a low thread count cotton. A fitted futon cover will generally cost more than a one size fit all or stretch version. Just as bed’s sheets and comforters run a little more costly for a king size than a double the futon mattress covers will also run a similar price structure.

People will most often use the covers for futon mattresses to conceal stains or make an old bedding look like new, but others will actually use it to protect the primary surface from ever looking old. Putting a cover over a new mattress will keep it looking great for years to come and help with the wear and tear, especially if it gets a lot of use. Whether you want to match new decor in the room or you just want to spice up the old material, futon covers are a great and simple solution. They are also far more cost effective than buying a brand new replacement futon mattress.

  • Great Floor Plan Book

This book is one that we always keep in our library for reference. With 560 pages of floor plans, home ideas, and many full color photos it is a great resource.
  • Measuring House Foot Prints and Utility Lines

Having a measuring wheel on hand when you are in the planning stage of laying out home dimensions, driveway lengths, and utility access is really handy. This is the model that we keep in our truck.
  • Take A Compass With You

Taking a compass to a building site with you will help you to determine which way the home should be pointed to take advanage of sunrises, sunsets, southern exposure, and views. Also having a GPS on hand is a good idea to give you an idea of elevation, especially when snow load is a concern. This is the model GPS that we have used for three or four years.
  • Out Building Construction Book

This book I purchased for my husband when we first got into construction as a gag gift. Little did I know that it would be used for multiple buildings around our home.
