Old lantern clocks are perhaps one of the oldest types of collectible antique clocks. They are named as such because they resemble like the candle lamps that were widely used during the 16th century. Their earliest models featured a weight-driven mechanism that is capable of running for 12 hours straight. After that, they need to be wounded in order to ensure time accuracy.
